Hi All! So, I get this question often on my Instagram page regarding how to prepare for nursing school. So, I’ve finally carved out some time to make a blog on it. The reason being is that I wanted to provide some detailed tips that would help those who are currently interested in Nursing school. Below are some of the most important tips I think to be helpful.

1) Do WELL in your prerequisite classes. Prerequisite classes include Algebra, English, Chemistry, Anatomy, and etc. When it comes to being accepted into nursing school your grades in these classes really matter. Nursing schools usually have a set GPA that they require students to meet or exceed before even being considered. So, doing great in those classes really help to lay the foundation for a great application when applying.
2) Get ORGANIZED! Yup, I said it and I can’t stress enough the importance of it. In nursing school, you have countless exams, quizzes, and assignments. You must find a way to keep up with all those things plus whatever else of a personal life you still have… LOL. I strongly suggest investing into getting a planner. It doesn’t have to be an expensive one either. If you want to go the cheapest route possible you can literally just use the calendar in your phone to mark exam dates and other important assignments.
3) Be prepared to study A LOT. Nursing is a field where you are taking responsibility for others’ lives. So, nothing about it is easy. And that’s okay. If you are truly putting in the time necessary and trying to retain the information to the best of your ability you’ll be just fine.
4) Last, but not least. STAY POSITIVE. I can just about guarantee you that having a positive attitude will get you a lot further than a negative one. So, don’t be that student that ALWAYS complains. If you see others in a group talking about how terrible a class is and that you’ll never pass it tune them out. Don’t let someone else negative experience be yours. Do things with an open mind and say to yourself I WILL PASS! Before you know it, you’ll find yourself at the end of the finish line and I promise it’ll all be worth it.
That concludes my tips on how to prepare for Nursing school. I hope you find them helpful. If you have any questions or comments on any of the tips I provided please leave a comment below or DM me @nursekimdarpoh on Instagram.
